One fine day in Summer Bay

My cousin and I decided to drive up to Palm Beach in the northern beaches of Sydney. It was a beautiful day to drive with endless blue skies - what a way to spend the final day of the holidays.

Palm Beach is located one hour north of Sydney CBD by car. We took the beach route which meant we got to see the other beaches along the way - Manly, Dee Why and Avalon just to name a few. The beaches were packed, with everyone out enjoying the sun, surf and sand. What Australia is famous for. We stopped by Newport hoping to have lunch at Braza Newport, Brazillian Barbecue, but it was only open for lunch on the weekends. See map of Pyrmont to Palm Beach here.

Palm Beach is famous as a double for Summer Bay, the location of the popular Australian soap opera  Home and Away. It has been a while since I have seen an episode of Home and Away. My cousin, however, is an avid fan. She loves the character of Brax played by Steve Peacocke. It was fun (and funny) to watch and listen to her recreate the footsteps and stories of the characters so familiar to her. Summer Bay had come to life! Now if only the actors were on the set filming....

Here are some photos from our day out in Summer Bay.
